School Uniform

School Uniform

We believe that the school uniform plays an important role in establishing the ethos of our schools and that our uniform policy benefits the school in a number of ways:

  • It encourages children to identify with the school and nurtures the notion of community
  • It protects children from social pressures to dress in a particular way
  • It supports discipline and good behaviour and ensures the health and safety of students
  • It instills a sense of pride in the school
  • It promotes more effective teaching & learning

All children must have full school uniform, worn correctly, for daily attendance at school.  Uniform will usually be worn on occasions when children are representing the school, including school visits.

Parents and carers are asked to co-operate fully by providing the uniform and ensuring children wear it correctly to and from school, and at other times as required.  Some items are only obtainable from the school’s suppliers.

No nail varnish should be worn.

Valuables
Children should not bring any valuables such as electronic games or mobile phones into school. The school will not take responsibility for any items brought into school, unless by prior agreement.

It is important nonetheless when defining our uniform policy that this does not provide a barrier to inclusivity. Consequently religious headwear may be worn (for religious purposes only) but will be required to be in line with the wider school uniform.
