This week marked a major milestone for our new Kilnwood Vale Primary School when construction company Willmott Dixon held a topping out ceremony at the West Sussex site.
Our new state-of-the-art school, due to open in September, will provide places for more than 420 pupils and has been built in partnership with contractor Willmott Dixon.
It will have extensive playing fields, a dedicated wildlife area and multi-use games areas when complete.
Jon Chaloner, Chief Executive of GLF, said: “We are delighted to be opening our third school in West Sussex when Kilnwood Vale Primary School opens in September."
"Each school has its own distinct character and culture which is respectful of the community it serves, and the Kilnwood Vale community will have these beautiful new buildings within which the school will undoubtedly flourish."
“Kilnwood Vale’s pupils will benefit from an inclusive ethos, excellent teaching and a broad and balanced curriculum underpinned by strong leadership.”
Kilnwood Vale is one of the fastest growing communities in West Sussex and more than 600 people live on the development.
Roger Fosdyke, Willmott Dixon’s managing director in South London and the South East, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Crest Nicholson to deliver this new facility, which will leave a legacy by providing much needed education places to this already thriving community."
The new school has been set back from the road to offer easy drop-off access and parking and both the school and associated nursery are designed with the growing community in mind and room to expand.
Managing director of Crest Nicholson Strategic Projects, Andrew Dobson, added: “We are proud of the progress which has been made so far and thrilled to give pupils a new place to learn this September."
